This 14,000 sq.ft., LEED Silver Certified project is a high quality dental and office space located in Seattle, Washington that features 3 floors above 1 level of parking.

Stearns was brought on board early at the recommendation of Constantine Builders to assist KPFF Structural Engineers with steel framing and connection solutions of the structural steel and castellated beam materials, stair systems design and specialty architectural features. Stearns’ in-house detailing staff proactively provided detailed connection configuration and framing optimization while progressing with component selection, procurement and fabrication. Stearns worked in close collaboration with the construction team to manage the delivery sequence and provide an aggressive steel construction schedule.

A prominent weathering steel feature, designed to patina with age, organizes the glass façade facing east, providing visual interest and building identity while serving as a contemporary interpretation of historic architectural cornices. To the west, smaller scaled windows feature architectural sunshade elements.

The entire design and construction teams successfully completed this uniquely designed, steel-framed dental and office building on time and within budget.”
