Project Manager 

R.F. Stearns is seeking an experienced Project Manager to execute steel projects from initial design through to final completion.

 

Things that get us excited:

  • Bachelor's degree with emphasis in Construction Management, Engineering or Architecture.

  • 5 years minimum project management experience with emphasis on steel construction

  • Computer experience and fluency with MS Office, MS Project, Adobe Acrobat, database software

  • AutoCAD and/or 3D modelling experience

 

Our successful Project Managers:

  • Excel at Customer Relations and Management of Expectations

  • Oversee Project Safety Administration

  • Develop Project Budget with Cost Reporting/Projecting

  • Develop and Maintain the Project Schedule

  • Change Management with customer, vendors and subcontractors

  • Coordinate and Manage Design Teams and internal team members

  • Coordinate and Manage Vendors and Subcontractors

  • Perform Contract Reviews with familiarity with construction contract language

  • Occasionally travel to jobsites and customer offices (West coast and Hawaii)

Project Engineer

R.F. Stearns is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to execute steel projects from notice to proceed through to final completion.

 

Things that get us excited:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in steel related activities

  • Ability to read and understand design drawings and specifications

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and steel detailing is a plus

  • Knowledge of open web and steel decking is a plus

  • Experience with Tekla/ 3-D modeling programs is a plus

  • Ability to create steel shop drawings suitable for fabrication

  • Solid written and verbal communication skills are essential

  • Multi-tasking abilities and being detail-oriented

 

Our successful Project Engineers:

  • Maintain and manage drawings, transmittals, and other documentation

  • Manage RFI processes

  • Provide assistance to the Project Manager as needed

  • Occasionally travel to jobsites and customer offices (West coast and Hawaii)

Outside Sales Executive – Seattle Focused

R.F. Stearns is seeking an experienced Outside Sales Executive to serve as the primary sales representative dealing directly with new clients to develop and close new sales opportunities. This position will be focused on Seattle area sales.

 

Things that get us excited:

  • Minimum of 5 years of sales experience with a proven track record successfully exceeding sales targets

  • Ability to build value built on establishing long term relationships

  • Proven talent for developing customer relationships from first contact to close

  • Ability to handle negotiations with a focus on value-based selling

  • Solid communication skills with the ability to speak and present in front of groups of people at all levels and disciplines within a customer organization is mandatory

  • Proven ability to listen, extrapolate information, and leverage resources to effectively provide solutions to customer needs

  • A team player who can engage and work with other team members

  • In depth knowledge of business related to customer needs combined with the ability to think and act strategically

 

Our successful Sales Executives:

  • Identify, contact, qualify and develop a strong, measurable pipeline of new accounts

  • Serve as primary contact dealing directly with new customers

  • Gain an in-depth knowledge of customer’s business priorities, challenges, and initiatives

  • Accurately maintain sales and/or revenue forecasts

  • Maintain strong technical awareness of the industry

  • Unique ability to influence key contacts/decision makers to negotiate and close business.

  • Familiar with CRM tools

  • Viewed as a self-motivated leader and an expert on high-performing team

  • Travel to customer offices as required (West Coast, Seattle focused)
