The King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) in Jeddah is Saudi Arabia's third largest air facility, with up to 14.2 million passengers passing through it each year. After completing our scope of work for them on the Haramain High Speed Railway project, Stearns was hired once again by United Arap Aluminium Company to fabricate the structural steel elements of the skylights in KAIA's mosque. The mosque is part of the new international airport terminal planned to open in 2015, and the skylights consist of six pieces of specially designed, curved plate structures.
