Ala Moana Shopping Center

Ala Moana Shopping Center expansion was designed to add approximately 50 new tenant spaces above an existing below-grade parking structure. Previous code revisions mandated a seismic upgrade to handle the additional load mass prior to renovation. Steel was chosen for the support system and Stearns was approached to provide design assistance, value-engineering expertise, and material selection for the seismic upgrade of the operating Ala Moana Mall facility. Providing the appropriate structural steel system brought the project to completion on time and within budget.
